Where we're up to

Gateshead Poverty Truth Commission has been meeting for a few months now.

An equal number of Community Commissioners - those who know what it's like to live at the sharp end of poverty - and Civic and Business Commissioners - those with influence in Gateshead - have been getting together each month on Zoom. You can see some of us on the picture below.

Together we've been listening to each other's stories, building relationships and beginning to identify some of the causes and effects of poverty in Gateshead.

We're about to choose our 'Task Groups', which will focus the Commission's attention on a smaller number of issues that we would like to see change on.

We will update you with our progess as we go.
